Gómez Cambronero has reached the final of a competition that received more than 5,000 entries. The painter from La Mancha has placed among the best with his work titled La espera, a large-format painting that symbolizes the most challenging moments of the pandemic. The scene depicts a girl with a distant gaze, waiting for a grandfather who will never return. The piece is a remarkable exercise in technique, detail, and mastery of light and shadow.
La espera was already one of the most acclaimed paintings by both the public and critics during its presentation at the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels, where it was one of the 14 pieces featured in the exhibition European Unity.
The ARC Salon, which will announce its awards in January, is considered the most prestigious art competition in the world. In fact, all previous winners have achieved fame and recognition within the artistic community thanks to this award. Let’s hope Gómez Cambronero soon joins this distinguished group.
