Gómez Cambronero has reached the finals of a competition that attracted over 5,000 entries. The painter from La Mancha has placed his work, titled “The Wait”, among the best. This large-format painting symbolizes the most challenging moments of the pandemic. The scene depicts a young girl with a distant gaze, waiting for a grandfather who will not return. The piece is a remarkable exercise in technique, detail, and mastery of light and shadow. “The Wait” was already one of the most acclaimed paintings by both the public and critics during its debut at the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels, where it was one of the 14 works featured in his exhibition European Unity.
The ARC Salon, which will announce its awards in January, is considered the most prestigious competition in the world. In fact, all previous winners have achieved fame and recognition within the artistic community thanks to this accolade. Hopefully, Gómez Cambronero will soon join this distinguished group.
