THE SPANIARD GÓMEZ-CAMBRONERO WINS SECOND PRIZE IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST OF THE ITALIAN PUBLICATION ICONART MAGAZINE.

The artist from Spain was recognized this past weekend by the Milan-based publication IconArt Magazine. His painting “Luces Nocturnas II” (Night Lights II) won the second prize in the competition held on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Spanish painter Juan Francisco Gómez-Cambronero was one of the distinguished creators at the annual gala organized by the Milanese art magazine IconArt Magazine in Salerno, Italy.

Gómez-Cambronero traveled to the Amalfi Coast this weekend as one of 20 artists selected for the La Collettiva exhibition. In addition to being chosen to feature in the show at the Maritime Station of Campania, the artist from La Mancha received one of the three top international awards presented by the Milan-based publication, edited by Prince Group, described as “an initiative that rewards talent and celebrates emotions.”

In an interview with Radio Daimiel on Monday, the local artist admitted that he traveled “without any expectation other than enjoying the experience of being part of the exhibition,” making the award “a huge surprise” and, like all recognitions, serving as “motivation to keep painting.”

His painting “Luces Nocturnas II” (Night Lights II) won second prize in the competition held along the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea before an audience of 200 people. This oil on Belgian linen canvas evokes the vibrancy of youth at the start of a summer night. Critics praised “the movement and dynamism conveyed in the work” and the artist’s ability to capture “the reflections of lights” depicted in the painting. A local gallery owner was so impressed that he invited Gómez-Cambronero to participate in a group exhibition next year featuring new works by the Daimiel artist. “In the end, you make connections that you never know where they might lead, but that feedback is the most valuable part of these events,” he remarked.

The event, held on December 18 in Salerno, included participation by renowned art critic and historian Vittorio Sgarbi, one of the world’s leading experts on Raphael and Caravaggio.

The IconArt Magazine award is particularly significant as it highlights emerging talents in photography, sculpture, and painting.
